Dr. Linda Cao

Dr. Linda Cao was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. In the year 2000, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Louisiana State University. She then went on to attend and graduate from LSU School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2004. From there, Dr. Cao practiced as a general dentist for one year before joining the Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program at LSU School of Dentistry where she earned her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 2007. In 2008 she became Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Cao currently has her own practice and does PRN work with Children’s Hospital Tooth Bus.

Dr. Cao holds medical staff privileges at Children’s Hospital and East Jefferson General Hospital in New Orleans. She also serves a Clinical Assistant Professor in the LSU School of Dentistry’s Pediatric Dentistry Department. To further her education, Dr. Cao is currently pursuing her executive MBA degree from the University of New Orleans with an expected graduation date of late 2014. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Louisiana Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, College of Diplomate of American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, and New Orleans Dental Association.

In addition, Dr. Cao routinely takes continuing education courses relevant to pediatric dentistry and sedation protocol as she strives to provide the best possible care to her patients by staying abreast of developments in her specialty.

Dr. Cao is passionate about the communities in which she lives and works. She is a volunteer for Special Olympics’ Special Smiles, which provides oral health screenings for Special Olympic athletes in Louisiana. She recently volunteered in the American Dental Associations Mission of Mercy in 2013 where she and other dental professionals provided dental services to the Greater New Orleans Community. Dr. Cao is an active supporter of the Rosary Child Care Development in New Orleans East where she served as the chair committee leader for their first annual Fall Festival in 2012. In one day, this fundraiser event helped raise close to $40,000 to go towards rebuilding the daycare’s playground area.

Dr. Cao’s church community, equally as important, leads her to be an active member of her home church, Mary Queen of Vietnam and led her to be a board member for the MQVN CDC (Mary Queen of Vietnam Church, Community Development Corporations, Inc.), a non-profit organization helping to rebuild and restore the eastern New Orleans Vietnamese community devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

Dr. Linda Cao is one of fifteen children. She is married to Dr. Phuong Nguyen, an LSU Dental alumni member, and has two young children, Kaylie and Balian. In her free time, she devotes herself to spending it with her extensive family and children.
